The Read Together Tent, features accessible storytimes and interactive activities for the whole family. Children are invited to engage in stories through movement, sorting stations, arts and crafts, and more while authors and illustrators share their beautiful picture books. These presentations are sure to inspire connections with stories for children and guardians alike.
Enjoy the addition of francophone author presentations presented by Centre francophone Hamilton.
On Saturday, this tent has ASL interpretation thanks to Silent Voice and Undivided Productions.
The Read Together Tent is located East of the central Rose Garden and includes child-appropriate seating and tables for activities, as well as a small quiet tent, located adjacent to the presentation tent, for children that prefer to be slightly removed from amplified sounds and would like to use Telling Tales’ collection of fidget toys and colouring sheets. Caregiver seating is also available for babies on laps.
Directly following each presentation, head to A Different Drummer Books, Official Children’s Bookseller (located East of the central Rose Garden) to buy your favourite featured book and then to the Autograph Tent to have it signed by the presenters!
These presentations are designed for family audiences and would be most enjoyed by children ages 4 to 6.
Accessibility Note: Expect a 1-2 minute walk between all Programming Tents and Autograph Tents.
