Executive Director Job Posting

Telling Tales is seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth. This role is ideal for a passionate leader with a strong background in not-for-profit management, fundraising, and arts or literary programming. The Executive Director will oversee strategic operations, guide artistic direction, build community partnerships, and work closely with the Board of Directors to advance Telling Tales’ mission of inspiring a love of literacy. This position offers the opportunity to shape both the annual festival and year-round programming while fostering meaningful community impact.

Job Type: Full-Time Permanent (35 hours/week, with flexibility)
Salary: $40.41/hour
Start Date: TBD

Summer Programming Assistant

Telling Tales is searching for an enthusiastic Summer Programming Assistant eager to help run community story time events and support festival programming for children and families across Hamilton and Burlington.

Job Type: Employee Contract (35 hrs/week over 10 weeks)
Salary: $20/hour
Start Date: June 22-August 28, 2026

Location: Home-based with occasional/weekly meetings in the Hamilton/Burlington area. In-person attendance at events in Hamilton/Burlington is required

Telling Tales is searching for a Volunteer & Event Coordinator to lead volunteer engagement, support festival logistics, and build community connections that inspire participation in storytelling and literacy programs.

Job Type: Employee Contract (35 hrs/week over 17 weeks)
Salary: $20/hour
Start Date: June 15- October 9, 2026
Application Deadline: May 28, 2026
Location: Home-based with occasional/weekly meetings in the Hamilton/Burlington area. In-person attendance at events in Hamilton/Burlington is required. Onsite for the duration of the set up, Festival, and tear down, between October 1-5, 2026.
