Percy’s Museum
A grey stone house is in a large yard with a pond. A boy with medium skin tone sits on a bench beside the pond. A truck is in the yard, and men with light skin tone load boxes off of it and into the house. Across a fence is another large yard with a stone house. Text: His new house just isn’t the same.
There is a grassy garden area with big pink flowers and small yellow flowers. Bees fly around and ants walk in a line across the grass. A boy with medium dark skin tone lies on the grass on his stomach. In front of him is a black cat with a bee on its head. The cat has wide eyes looking up and its mouth is open in a circle. The boy watches the cat. Birds fly in the distance. Text: Percy looks around his new yard, and he sees bees kissing flowers, ants on parade and birds putting on air shows.
A pink table is covered in leaves, rocks, a pile of paper, and a pair of pink scissors. Someone’s hands are holding the paper and drawing blue clouds with a crayon. A jar is on top of one end of the paper, and inside of it are leaves, a flower, and two caterpillars. Text: Percy collects leaves and rocks and insects. He makes drawings of different kinds of clouds.

A young boy moves from the city to a new home in the country. He misses his friends, but at least it’s summertime — flowers are blooming, baby birds are hatching, and caterpillars are transforming into butterflies. Enraptured by the natural world, Percy climbs trees, tastes wild strawberries and tries to catch fish in the river with his bare hands.
