Josh Taylor is a dancer, choreographer, storyteller and an artist-educator, often exploring themes in Hip-Hop culture, Pop culture, sociopolitical and social justice issues.
Through initiatives and events such as his recent multi-arts dance show, The Uncomfortable Project, and 73 ‘Til Infinity, a series of dance shows for the City of Hamilton celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop, Josh aims to entertain, educate and express.
Josh was the 2020 recipient of the Hamilton Arts Award for Dance and Performing Arts, the 2015 recipient of the John C. Holland Award for Arts and is the 2023-2024 Artist-in-Residence at Theatre Aquarius.
Through his work as Owner and Artistic Director of Defining Movement Dance Studio, Choreographer at Thrive Dance Academy, and in the Hamilton community, Josh is passionate about helping movement artists of all ages find their voice, build their platform and create meaningful opportunities in dance.
