
JEN FERGUSON (she/her) is a queer woman with Métis/Michif and white settler ancestry. She is also an activist, a feminist, an auntie, and an accomplice armed with a PhD in English and Creative Writing. She believes that writing, teaching, and beading are political acts. Her debut YA novel The Summer of Bitter and Sweet received seven starred reviews, won the Governor General’s Literary Award for Young People’s Literature—Text, is a Stonewall Honor Book, an NPR Best Book of the year, a School Library Journal Best Young Adult Book of the year, a Chicago Public Library Best Teen Fiction, a Horn Book FanFare Book, a Kirkus Best Young Adult Book, a White Pine Award Nominee, a Young Adult Golden Poppy Finalist and a William C. Morris Award Finalist, among other honors. Jen’s other YA novels are Those Pink Mountain Nights and A Constellation of Minor Bears.
