The Preteen Tent features accessible readings and hands-on activities for children ages 9 to 12. Audiences are invited to engage in stories through crafting, writing workshops, drawing, and more! All of this while presenters share their poetry, graphic novels, non-fiction, and more! These presentations are sure to give preteens something to talk about.

On Saturday, this tent has ASL interpretation thanks to Silent Voice and Undivided Productions.

The Preteen Tent is located beside the Young Adult Tent, West of the Rose Garden and includes activity stations to accommodate different styles of audience engagement, as well as a small quiet tent located adjacent to the presentation tent for youth that prefer to be slightly removed from amplified sounds and would like to use Telling Tales’ collection of fidget toys and drawing materials.

Directly following each presentation head to Epic Books, Official YA Bookseller/Autograph Tent (located in the same area) to buy your favourite featured book and have it signed by the creator!

These presentations are designed for family audiences and would be most enjoyed by children ages 9 to 12.

Accessibility Note: Expect a 1+ minute walk between this Programming Tent and Autograph Tent.
