The Preteen Tent features accessible readings and hands-on activities for children ages 9 to 12. Audiences are invited to engage in stories through eco crafting, poetry and writing workshops, dance, drawing, and more! All of this while presenters share their poetry, graphic novels, non-fiction, and more! These presentations are sure to give preteens something to talk about.

On Sunday, this tent has ASL interpretation thanks to Silent Voice and Undivided Productions.

The Preteen Tent is located near RBG’s Veggie Village, East of the entrance to Hendrie Park and includes activity stations to accommodate different styles of audience engagement, including an outdoor seating area under a tree for children that prefer to be slightly removed from amplified sounds and would like to use Telling Tales’ collection of fidget toys and colouring sheets.

Directly following each presentation head to A Different Drummer Books, Official Children’s Bookseller (located East of the central Rose Garden) to buy your favourite featured book and then to the nearby Autograph Tent to have it signed by the author!

These presentations are designed for family audiences and would be most enjoyed by children ages 9 to 12.

Accessibility Note: Expect a 2+ minute walk between this Programming Tent and Autograph Tent.
