Jody Boston is an award-winning artist with eighteen years of experience teaching drama and movement to primary and secondary students. A guest artist at McMaster University, she also teaches Improv and Clown. Jody has a post-graduate certificate in social therapeutics and directs Under the Willows, where she guides an ensemble of multidisciplinary artists who create outdoor arts, garden and play programming for children accessing out-of-home, mental health support.
A certified therapeutic clown practitioner with Red Nose Remedy, Jody serves both paediatric clients with medical complexities and geriatric clients accessing complex continuing and nursing home care. A triple-threat performer, Jody also provides dramaturgical clown consultation for character development. Her recent theatre highlights include Farts Comedy, Open Hearts and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. She regularly pursues studio training in vocalisation, dance, movement, mime and clown and is re-energized by belting show tunes while cooking with her teenager.
